Can anyone tell me the neck profile (dimensions/shape) on a 1977 P-B, maple neck?
Is it like the '57 Vintage Reissue - shallow C, or the more rounded 'U' shape?
Thanks
Phil

All the 70's Precision basses I have played had thicker (U-shape) necks.

70's P basses are also typically B width necks(1 5/8"...like a 51RI or a Sting bass (53RI)). They are narrower side to side then say a 57 or 62 era P bass. (1.75") Also, there were A width P necks made in the 70's, which is the standard Jazz bass neck width at the nut ( 1.5"). However, i've only seen them on Rosewood board P's...never a maple. That's not to say that they don't exist however, i've just never seen one.

Hope that helps.
