Hope none of you or yours, had any damage from the earthquake and will ride out the storms safely.

I think I can take responsibility for this, pbassbob and his wife came from far and distant lands to visit my wife and I. Two members of the NICP Executive Committee coming into the same room may have upset the balance of nature.

Seriously, hope all is well.

I'm not going to get in the habit of posting weather info here at the Fender Forum, but this is what I posted in 10 internet locations this morning as a volunteer analyst for the Tropical Storm Research Center in southern Alabama...

Quote:

HURRICANE IRENE Update Wednesday August 24 - 07:00 Hrs EDT

As anticipated, Hurricane Irene has stated to track a little more to the north. The hurricane's ultimate track is shifting slightly more offshore as it will be traveling up the entire East Coast of the United States. Persons along the coast from Southeastern Florida all the way to the New England States will be impacted by this storm in some way over the next several days. Projections are showing a significant coastal North Carolina involvement by early morning, Saturday August 27.

Persons along the Atlantic coastal areas of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, all of coastal New England and the Canadian Maritime Provinces should be carefully monitoring the progress of this storm. Follow the orders from your local Emergency Management Agency.

Here in southern NE we await to see if IRENE will land as the largest hurricane in my life time of 50 years. Gloria was the strongest hurricane I have been through. This one is projected to be possibly more powerful. I hope all of you south of us get through it safely too. Please pardon my total ignorance but what is NCIP?

The earthquake woke me up. Figured out that it was all our founding fathers rolling over in their graves over the state of the USA today. Then went back to sleep.

The weather man on TV says the hurricane is going to track east of here and we should not even get any rain, but may have some clouds and gusty winds. I was hoping for a lot of rain as we need it and I also have an outdoor benefit gig Saturday night which would get cancelled should we get a bunch of rain, which would suit me just fine. I hate playing outdoors.

I feel so sorry for those people. I have some used plastic lawn furniture. I'm taking it to the Red Cross designating for VA Earthquake Relief right now. I also have a racoon coat, some ice skates, used underwear and a used electric can opener that doesn't open cans. Can't I donate all this junk and designate it go to VA and get a nifty tax break? I figure that all together the value is about $5,000.
