Well I couldn't stay away any longer. Had to see if the new Blaktopt barstools were in. They weren't, but I tried out a Henriksdal model. Sort of cushy. Decided to wait. The Blaktopt is supposed to be much cheaper!

Anyway came home with a bunch of stuff I didn't need. 3 bottles of sparking pear juice, 3 packs of Swedish cookies, a bag of Swedish coffee...dishcloths....vase, pitcher, a chair mat for a desk chair (ok I needed that), mirrors....a table, a side chair...placemats and a curtain rod. But on the upside it killed an entire day and I enjoyed a plate of meatballs, mashed potatoes and ligonberry sauce and some hot coffee. Then got some ice cream.
Walking to the car I felt like I had spent a day at a major amusement park...but no Blaktopt barstools.

I've heard a lot about the Blaktopt bar stools, our Ikea doesn't have them. the people at the Ikea Forum either love them or hate them, it's a little hard to understand since most of them are Swedish.

I like what the one guy said, "Vers der mont der ving, da burg no funk ler do!"

Roughly translated, try a bunch before you buy!

Brotherdave.

Great post. Still laughing.

About 2 years ago my wife and I went through all of our 'stuff' and tossed out about 2/3rds of it. We haven't been to Ikea since because I'm sure we'd replenish our stock.

If you go to the Swedish website, they have the Dominator bar stools, not yet ready for purchase in the U.S.A., they have them in Canada though. What a rip-off!

AND THIS HAS TO DO WITH PRECISION BASSES HOW? I am very disappointed that such prestine members of this forum would engauge in such banter in no way associated with basses,I am deeply hurt to almost the point of humiliation and now feel like I can no longer participate in any topic to do with basses(unless they are mine)I now therefore humbly resign never to speak on this topic again.
Thanks for your support :(

Geez! What a grouch! This has EVERYTHING to do with basses! You can sit on a stool to play your bass, you can lean your bass against it as a stand. You can set your bass on top of if it and make a screaming lunge for it as it falls off.

So, how is this not bass related, ya big grouch!

This thread started out de-railed! Or should I say, a train wreck?

BroDave is a devious one. With age comes a graceful treachery. I like it.

That's what happens when someone lets their "Inner clown" out. I hope you can keep yours under control, your shipmates may make you ride topside, not too good on a sub.

Well if you read between the lines, and if you know that Ikea doesn't have a new product called Blaktopt (Blacktop) anything...maybe....just maybe...you'll see what it has to do with Fender P-Basses.

OMG!!! I went to Ikea today! They HAD Blaktopt bar stools and they were really nice! The wood was a natural finish, kind of a birch and the seats were the deepest, richest black I've ever seen. I had no need of a bar stool but, I bought one to sit on when I play. They're high, just be aware.

That's why I like the Forums, everybody helps everybody!
:D
