As far as the cables, all the reasons previously mentioned by everybody else. If you intend to treat them as if they're made of glass you'll be O.K., if you don't expect issues.

super kid, that's one of the reasons we don't like GC, people playing way too loud and way too much.

Fletch, I had my pan insured for $10,000 today, the appraiser said at the moment, it was worth $7,850 but, there will be a teflon shortage in the near future so I could expect it's value to go up!

Yes teflon only is made possible by the dioscilator-- I got rid of it though. I got a nice piece of rope for it. I wish I still had the diosc. cause I think I know how to use it to make transparent aluminum. Maybe I can get it back.

That was almost the only kind of cable back in the day, and I don't remember anyone protesting when the straight ones became the standard... It like Ron said, more problems than they were worth.
The shorted out a lot.

i understand :D i wanted it because of the coil effect of it, but i do for sure want a new cable with the 90 degree bend because i hate a straight jack sticking out of the front of my pbass.

Spread the word! Guitar Center is evil!

If you're buying a cable, research them and spend the money for a good one, it's a long term investment.

I have to deal with GC.I have nowhere else to go. :( But being a kid, they really like me.And I've tought them stuff. So they have started to not bother me or my dad. I have a list of stuff to take when I go,strap, tuner, cord.some times new guys come up and ask how long I've been takeing lessons and I say never.Thats when they start doing every thing you tell them to,and stop lieing. :D GC has finaly become a pleasureable for me. :D The first time I went there to actualy buy something myself(my tele)the place was a wreck. After the 4th time I ask a guy to grab that Gretsch,or that sig jazz,he tunes it and puts my strap on it hands it to me,and I go off on my own.I don't think it has anything to do with me,but ever since that day I bought my tele. The place has finaly become nice to go to. :D

it's kinda funny.the other kids that show up and can't play.I just give them a blank stare and they run to the drum room.if that doesn't work,I put down the bass pick up a gretsch and play blues REALY LOUD.and that makes them stop and stare at you.   chumps!

They ain't the Super Tin Lid but now are they??? The mini Blues machine!! 8)

How are you going trying to be nice to these Rhythmic Bozo's? Are they being nice back?? Do i have to do some Clown hunting again??

So when I visit the frozen tundra at Christmas this year, besides my annual Kroll's burger (from the original location), what musicl stores do I need to check out?
