It's been eight years since he passed over, imagine the nonsense he and Keith are up to.

Unfortunately I became a bassist right around his death so I never had a chance to see him as the bassist he was/is,I remember 15 years ago I was living in Manchester in a sober house(hard to believe I did drugs at one time,Yes;it be true)and I was'nt able to stay out past 11 O'clock and he was playing with his band(J.Entwhistle group)at the coffee shop down the street from my house,I waited as long as I could but had to leave before he came on,even more sad was there were only 30 or so people there to see him and 20 were the regulars who practically lived there.
But even before I played bass I realized what a precense he was in the band,he sound and feeling are rarely duplicated before or since,he was 1 in a Million and I say to him THANK-YOU JOHN :( for all you gave us,you will never be forgotten(pssst, there's some crazy guy here in the forum who thinks he's you, dont tell him I told you)Everytime I hear another tricky day I get a bit fuzzy

Greatest bass player I have ever seen, pick, fingers or crazy techniques, John used them all, showed me that you should never limit yourself to one style of playing, the man was mighty and truly missed.

Those days were the best. I'll happen across some of the old Warner Brother's cartoons and regret that they don't do animation like that any more. Mel was was the John Entwistle of cartoons.

The Who will never be the same. I agree as to Zak Starkey, he's an awesome drummer. I do feel bad for Pino, no matter who plays with The Who, they will always be compared to John.

penny, you don't have to, guess smart-a$$ palladino never pretended to be like the ox, he just did the job and he did it with his own signature. on pete townshend's "withe city" he definitely proved his class.... i'm lovin' it!

I said poor Pino because he takes a lot of abuse. Go to The Conservatory and visit "Penny's Corner", you may be enlightened!

I saw the Who in Indianapolis, my cousin got tickets. The Who was always one of my favorites to see live. Johns presence was greatly missed, guess the Who couldn't get out of the commitments? Any how this was the year the tour John passed away on.
Well they tried to do "My Generation". Pino couldn't hang on this song, he just shrugged his shoulders? Who could fiil those shoes??????

Never thought a Looney Tunes thing could get me in the heartstrings, but Damn if that isn't one of the most heart-wrenching things I've seen in a while. That sort of simple, humble remembrance does more justice to a memory than any nationwide vigil or memorial extravaganza could. I think the most beautiful remembrance of Entwistle's memory is Palladino shrugging his shoulders, knowing that he could only put both feet into one of the monstrous foot prints of a bass giant.

J.E. wasn't just a great bass player, he was a great all around musician. I wish he was still around.

John Entwistle was the fit for The Who as John Paul Jones for Led Zeppelin.

It would be even worse than without Keith Moon.
It would be like Led Zeppelin without Bonzo and John Paul Jones.

You get the singer and guitarist, but you lose the groove.
