Just wanted to show off my new P-bass. Got it yesterday when I was only looking for a black MIM P-bass. It was brand new, still in the unopened box from Fender, no hands except mine have touched it since it was the sealed, closed, and packed at the Fender plant. I am super excited about this one. I got it for $530. Just gotta get a black pick guard and I am set. 8) And to me the S-1 switch is useless on a P-bass.

Grats :)
It looks great. Black is after the 3tone suburst one of my favourites.
I also own a 07 american precision bass and I like it very much :D

How you like the S1? Personaly I don't think it's usable, in series it sounds good enough, in paralel the sound is weaker.

It is useless to me right now, just not interested in it. I too keep it on series.
Here's an updated photo with new black pickguard.

That's a great look. A good friend of mine used to have an MIJ black-on-black P-Bass with a fretless maple neck that was one of the sexiest things of all time.

How hard was it to install the black pickguard? I'm looking to do the exact same thing. Was it very labor intensive or is it just unscrew, replace, screw in?

All I had to do was unscrew, replace, and screw. I did have to "dremel" a notch for the truss rod, not hard at all. The first pickguard I got was a cheaper All-Parts one from GC which did not have the notch already on it. My second pg from WD Music came with the notch.
