I was wondering fella's I have had a Telecaster P-bass neck from allparts,It was a gift about 4 years ago,I drilled the mounting holes and added some Vintage Japanese Tokai(used by all the Japanses basses in the 70-80's)tuners with the 3 screwholes opposed to the 4,made a mock-up nut from an old Squier.
I need to know how to finish it,By that I mean I really prefer the 70's laquer, all thick and what-not,its unfinished but I kept it from drying out with a little lemon-oil that has long since departed,I want to add a decal as well before finishing it,I can build'em but cant damn well finish'em to save me life,ANY DIRECTION GUYS? Paweese?
PS:IN DETAIL,I HAVE REALLY NO EXP IN THIS AREA,BE SPECIFIC PLEASE.I will not be offended no matter how you describe it,assume like I am clue-less at this(I am)and let me have it. THANX

Lawsuit, I was going to suggest youtube it...they have lots of 'how tos' in there. I was looking on how to refinish your guitar body. Most are barnyard techs like you or myself (just guessing you are btw).

You have guessed correctly pjbass I am a barnyard lover(oops I mean barnyard builder, builder I meant  )thanks for info people.
Martian thanks for the link but it did'nt mention in the directions if there is any fine sanding needing to be done ?I mean it shows a sandpaper assortment pack in one of the 3 pics on the side of the window along with the products to be used and I always(dont know why)thought some type of final sanding/buffing was done to make it all perty,I may very well be wrong and do not want to achieve any look other than the 70's style look and feel the necks came with,so sanding is a preference ONLY if it fits the look I am wanting.
And sorry for posting this in the incorrect forum,I will now go commit Harakiri with a piece of a broken window that I will have after tossing all four of my basses out the nearest window,I hope you are all satisfied that my life is no longer my own,I have no longer have the right to exist.
THANKS
