Flattened? Skewered? We can do that! You can do or have pretty much anything you want!

How about some more balloons?

Aren't they pretty?

and thank god you recognized the name, the other forums i use this name on people thought i was a girl for like 6 months, and had no idea... and i'm like well i've got long hair, but i got a beard too... i mean seriously, lol

The reason Bob mentioned my name when he was referring
to Josy Wales is because he knows I'm a Clint Eastwood fan...
I thought it was kind of interesting how a kid born in 85 would be also.

So no, I didn't think you were a girl, but you might get some razzing about "Josie & the Pussycats" from Pennywise... He seems to refer to them a LOT....

and on an off chance does anyone know why the hell i can't get an avatar....

Yes...

If you look at the top of this page, you will see:
"Fender.com Products Dealers News Artists Store Support Community"

To the right of that, you'll see a little gear-shaped thing with an arrow next to it...

Click on that, and select EDIT PROFILE from the pull-down menu, then you can upload your picture of Josie & The $@!&# cats. :D

lol i have a love for all clint eastwood movies, i managed to string josey wales, the spagetti westerns, high plains drifter, dirty harry, and gran torino into one small essay LOL no eastwoood is a great actor and one of my favorites.

and i see where to put an avatar in, but it says avatars are disabled....

You want to go to Dashboard - Edit Profile - Upload Photo.

The photo you upload will actually serve as your avatar...I used my P Bass, for example, and just switched to a pic of my dog...works fine, lasts a long time!

thanks, sorry about that, i'm having my N00b moment... sometimes it's a little tricky to figure out a new forum when your used to a different one.

In a probably futile effort to put this thread back onto the original track and actually address the inquiry for assistance, I would like to suggest clicking the link in my forum signature below which will take you to my resources page, then after that loads click the THIRD red link down titled "LEARNING AND EDUCATION." Once that page loads you will see links to every FREE online bass instruction resource I have found.

From the sites listed I can most strongly recommend the instructional products from Carol Kaye. While NOT free and NOT an online system, hers is the very best material available for anyone who already has some basic knowledge and is serious about a career as a bassist. These are the most professional level products on the market with no time wasting fluff like playing "On Top Of Old Smokey." Most bassists know who she is because of her pre-car crash studio career and not because post-crash she was electric bass instructor at the UCLA Henry Mancini School of Music. I learned more from Carol Kaye than from all other bass methods, systems, manuals and the three live instructors I've had combined. I don't play "Carol Kaye Style" but I play way better in my own style because of her. The beauty of Carol Kaye's materials is that they encourage you to develop as an artist and not as a robot parroting cover songs or playing lead sheets exactly as written.

1. Just because someone is named Velma, she doesn't necessarily have to look like Velma.

2. You tell me I'm nuts?

Do read up on Carol Kaye...you'll be AMAZED at how many well known tunes that lady has put the bottom on! Also, check out "The Wrecking Crew" when you have time...it's a group of studio pros (and Carol was one of them) that were on more recordings than you can imagine! It's some really cool history!

One of the points I tried to make in my post is that many more people know about her playing on the studio cuts in the 1960's than her long running instructional history which started in the late 1960's and continues today. You can still go to her house for reasonably priced private lessons. Without a single doubt the best bass instructor on the planet. I'm not the only one who thinks so either.
