Not too long ago I found the Fender Jazz Bass that I wanted to go along with my FSR Precision and Squier VM Jazz. Slowly but surely I've been modifying the Fender Jazz, new Baklite knobs (thanks Sabre) new pickguard and will be installing the pup and bridge covers this week as soon as the bridge cover comes in, ordered it Friday.

I pick up one of the Fenders and have to put it down to pick up the other one. I'm finding it harder to quit playing one long enough to pick up the other. With the new SPB-3's on the P Bass, it's incredible.

First time I've ever been happy with all my basses, just the way they are.

Now am I completely satisfied?

The VT Bass Deluxe is very nice, as is the Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor.

Dreaded G.A.S.

You probably should start making an empty spot on the work table, buying a new soldering iron, getting some fresh solder and ordering what you know for sure you'll use. Pots, bridge etc.

Then you can start ordering all the big stuff. Hey, you dodged one bullet in the world not ending yesterday, you do want to do this in your lifetime, right?

Go ahead Bob, get the stuff, then when you're all ready to go, Sabre can come to your house and help! :D

It will be fun!!

My favorite bass is my old 74 P bass. But since I don't know squat about posting pics untill tomorrow you'll have to wait.

I have decided that I will break out the old iron and start to use my 72 Jazz and my 74 p bass at our up coming gigs. I have not used my 74 in 15 years. What is up with that? It's not like I'm ever going to sell the basses. So what the heck am I not playing them for?? The 74 is a Jazz width maple neck with Surf Green finish!!! My 72 in my avitar is like Grandpa the farmer played it for 10 years and had it glued to his gut. You can tell how big his hand was from the worn imprint. It's stinkin' nice. I should be thrashed for not using my best wood. That's what she said.

I understand how you feel about the good wood. I don't have anything that good anymore but back in the day. It was bad, guitars and basses were stolen all the time.

I have a Lake Placid Blue 1969 P-Bass. Plays great & sounds great. All stock. No need to change a thing as far as I am concerned. The neck has a nice vintage radius to it I love the way it plays & the pickups sound great compared to my more recent mexi P-bass. Also I will post a photo soon. I know what oxfan will say 'no pic no 69 lpblue bass"

I'll take your word for it. I have asked to see pics but, Rez is #1 in that respect, took first place from Zod.

I have had trouble posting photos in the past. I'll try to do it tonight. Any tips?

You've come to the right place. We've just had a bunch of conversations regarding posting pictures. There's a guy here, Sabre Lane who did the impossible, he taught me how. I never could get it, with his help on a phone call, took 5 minutes tops.

Let me know when you'll be here tonight. I probably can help or, I'll get ahold of him.

I am showing off my new ability to post pics. I'm a little fuzzy on the re-sizing thing though. This is a Strat I built and reliced. It has a Tele neck and a "top hat" switch tip.

When the Road Worn series came out I offered to "relic" instruments by dragging them behind my car, no one took me up on it.
