* this is a response to Josey wales post from the previous page-----------------------------------

Well..... you are an retard of course...... NO not really I'm just messing with you :D :D :D -- The teflon in question is the cornbread pan- used for making cornbread. I like white cornbread and not sweet cornbread. I like it with bean soup and onions-- raw onions in the bean soup. Oh boy that is some good stuff!! Oh yeh some ham in the bean soup is pretty good. Have you ever had bean soup and cornbread? I bet not and whatnot.

It is my pleasure and I say thank you once again,..." thank you once again." In my brief time in Hollywood it has been quite an experiance to be able to experiance the short time I've been in Hollywood! Thank you and good night. I must go and play the bass now.

the zettler yard rake is in use in my yard so that's why he doesn't figure in my sig for now... the dioscillator was to big for my purposes* and is in stroker's hand still.
(*i discussed the energy-costs with my wife, gee... that was a heavy freakin' out evening and i'm glad to not pass another night in the garage!)

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to Fletch, what an honor, I'm all choked up.

Kid, you're not a tard, you just haven't been paying too much attention, there are many lessons given here, you need to go to the archives and study.

I AM NOT LORDING MY TEFLON PAN OVER ANYBODY!

I just really appreciate it, it was such a nice gesture, thank you Fletch.

Please read in the Fender lounge my topic== posted today--- I have deleted the undisclosed amount of over size picture posts as agreed to. I will now not buy 1 set of rotosound bass strings and I will begin the self imposed penalty of 2 days non participation. I hold myself responsible for an upturn in derailing due to my original " I had spaghetti once" derailment venture. My self imposed NCAA type sanction for 2 days non participation will begin at 5 PM EST. I would have fined myself $10,000 but I don't have that kind of cash.

The terms of the sanction are this-- I will be able to read posts but I will not be able to answer them on this Forum ( no matter how many cornbread pans are desired) untill 5pm est on Monday.

And yes Josey Wales gets to add Cast Iron Cornbread Pan to his sig. So it is written...........

I am very not sorry for the sanctions against myself in following with the tradition of the dumbasses at OSU who just offer up the heads to any guilitine by kissing the $@! of the NCAA but that is a whole nuther story.

It is with great regret that I now leave parcipitation in the form of non participation in the Fender Forum for approx. 48 hours. It is a sad day but being of sound mind(?) and body(?) I bid thee farewell my friends, do not forget me, all will be well, the ship is still afloat , I go on in memory only, all is not lost, I watch the train ride away and the sun go down as I hang my head in shame, I go off into the sunset in my Jeep, top down, heads up, blowing in the wind,I'll stop for an ice cream cone, I'll always be near and in your dreams, and just remember that "I HAD SPAGHETTI ONCE"!!!!! Syanara for now!!!!!!

It is clear that the Teflon camp has no concept of what good cornbread really is.

Every respectable southerner knows that cooking cornbread in a Teflon cornbread pan is akin to serving instant grits to your mother-in-law. It just is NOT done in civilized society!

Point One: Any cornbread worth eating is baked in a black cast iron skillet that has been seasoned for years. Decades is better. These skillets are handed down from generation to generation by females in southern families. I make cornbread in one that is over 125 years old. I can name everyone that has been in control of that skillet since it was sold new in Cornelia, Georgia in the l1880's. You can season a new cast iron skillet by using it to fry bacon and fatback for a few months on a daily basis.

Image

Point Two: This black cast iron skillet you dedicate to this purpose is kept in the oven most of the time and it is never washed. You clean it out with a dry dishrag. No water and no soap.

Point Three: When it is time to make cornbread you get out one to two tablespoons of bacon grease and slather it all over the inside of the skillet. Preheat oven to about 400-425. Put cast iron skillet in oven for about 10 minutes while you mix up the corn meal, baking powder, milk, egg, more bacon grease, salt, etc. Stir your pork cracklins (if available) into the finished batter, remove the preheated skillet in which the bacon grease should be smoking by now, pour in the batter which should make a sizzling sound and start to cook around the edges, rippling up. Quickly return skillet to oven and bake for 20 to 25 mins. Serve with butter and Crestor or Lipitor as needed. Excellent with turnip greens, pinto beans, or just with a glass of cold milk for a snack. YUM!
