SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR NICP!
decision.

I've received some PM's and e-mails regarding the changing of the name NICP. I stayed up all night thinking about it and have made my decision.

The name NICP will stay as it is. We have made it a force to be reckoned with and to change now would only deter our mission and diminish our strength.

I will be in touch with the Creator of the Avatar. There will be a new and improved image.

Thank you.

I think he's been asked to leave so many states, he managed to sneak into Florida with a bunch of boat people. At least he'll have somewhere to go when they boot him again.

hey guys happy news!!

i found a song that i can practice my index and pinky fingers on

the progression goes like this.

---------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------55555555--00000000-------
--00000000000--3333333----------------------------------

so index 3rd fret pinky 5th, i know it's not the right fingerings as my ring finger should be on 5, but it's helping and making my pinky hurt :D

You know that gimungus TV you've got?

While you're wasting time in front of that,
you can be playing without an amp and you
wont disturb anyone.... 8) :D

WE WILL make you a Jedi yet!

lol, this is exactly what i do :D but with amp because nobody watches that one downstairs in the man cave but me...

however yesterday the basement got all kinda wet the little hose that puts water in the fridge snapped off in the middle of the night, and was spraying water all over, and i went to the basement to turn the water off to the fridge and it was like raining all down there, idk what happened, but i will have to check on my electronics later

Only 2 months on the bass? Well I must say a BASSCLEF tatoo already ? You got the Rock-N-Roll look down.
Remember To always practice slowly, its in our design to automatically start to speed up when practicing and forcing yourself to stay steady at one speed will help your timing, and as far as lacking pinky strength and dexterity they are one of the most common flaws that bass players share.
Its VITAL to start right now as a beginner and suck it up and get your technique down BEFORE you develope bad fingering habits and un-even finger strength,If not you either never will fix it and be limited in the fretting dept or even worse You will have to re-learn how to play corectly and UN-learn the bad habits.
Being a drummer first with 20 plus years under my belt I was aware of the pitfalls of incorect technique and how they affected my playing,I promised myself when I started the bass about 8 years ago that I would not make the same mistakes again learning the bass as I did on the drums.
So I bit the bullet and did my finger dexterity and strength excercises from the very beginning and developed all the basics tecniques equally which made my ability to learn new and more difficult things much more easy.
It sucks I know,I did'nt want to sit there and do fingering exercises when I can show all my friends and neighbors(who had no choice in the matter  ) how great I can play "Smoke on the water" or IronMan",but in the end it was worth it.
Goodluck, even a boring ex. can be not so boring by "trying to make it sound musical "some great words of wisdom by Mr Pastorus.

Good advice, lsb, technique is the key and comes with a lot of practice, practice, practice, practice and more practice.

Hope your water adventure worked out o.k.

A long time ago we had a home with no basement, the hose on the washer broke flooded out about a third of the house, good reason to get the carpets cleaned.

Sorry I haven't been available as of late. You all do realize this is my busy time of year with carnivals, fairs, parades, community days and such. I rarely get to stop in, just to bring home the "perishing", I mean "perishables".

If it gets too hot for you, come on down to the sewers, it's nice and cool down here and it's quiet and relaxing. You'll float, everybody floats down here.

well the bassclef tattoo is part of a heart, it's a treble and bass clef together to form a heart, symbolizing my love of music, i thought about it when i got it and how i wasn't into bass and was like whatever it looks cool, now i'm glad i got it :D

the water seems to have worked out ok, everything is just drying out now.

VERY glad to hear it - nightmare!

Years ago, I had a central-heating header tank burst while I was away in Ireland - came back to find it raining indoors. By some act of grace, it didn't reach the little room out the back where all my kit was stored  But I would'nt wish on anyone the feeling I had when I walked in
