SV, forgive me if you've already said, but are those flats or rounds on those two? I'm getting serious temptations to try a set of Rotosound flats when I change my current rather tired d'Addarios...

Your decision but, I tried Rotosound Flats, didn't like them. They were the stiffest, non-yielding strings I ever played, I was actually afraid of harm coming to the neck of my Precision.

Mmm... Geese aside, I'm committed to flats, and no, I don't find them hard or unyielding. I was just wondering about Rotosound as an alternative to d'Addario Chromes or Half-Round, which I've been using for a long time. (The fret harm was done by roundwounds  )

Cheers!

I can't believe the big steel guy can't tame a set of flatwounds. :P
Use them for a week, and you'll be bending them like Jack Bruce!

There are 4 basses in this house that are currently strung up with D'Addario ECB82 Chromes .050-.105... They have straight necks and they're doing fine.... The original Fender bass was made for flatwounds! :D[/quotr

I never throw anything away, I should send them to you just to see for yourself. I have played others and they were nowhere near that bad. Wish I still had the box or envelopes to see what they actually were.

We do not mention a certain name anymore!
