ok guys, back to the thread (if i may... )
3rd day is tooling day:
i lowered the action, there's plenty of room left from the factory-setting, now it's kinda hot knife through butter... very low action with no clatter and perfect pitch all over the frets, the change from phillips- to hex-screws for intonation is very useful, somebody considered!
moving the pup's does not change big in sound (as it is on a strat e.g.), i lifted the e-string side to have a commode thumb-rest. the neck is a bit chunky, but straight and even.
the sustain is quite endless, the tone varies strongly by the use of its knob, i set it mid and go for a bit more treble to cut through loud parts in the songs... all fits perfect.
due the ash-body and the thin lacquer the bass is extremely responsive and demands proper technique, a good reason to play it long and often.
for 5 string-jobs the warwick is unbeatable (sorry ya fender guys), but still, a preci is beyond comparison, i love this low-mid tsunami that only precis can provide, i'm glad to have one again. :D

(ok, the thread is open again for nonsense and other derailing action  )

Well, before we go off into the word of the NISP, let me say how happy I am all has worked out so well, It looks like a fine instrument, I haven't had the pleasure to see one or play one but, I'm certain it's great.

I've never seen a new bass that the strings didn't need lowered.

Have a nice day!

oh, did we change the name and i missed something, or is it one of your jokes to which i have no bearing ? (do americans also use this term of non-understanding?)

well, be glad to not have seen and played the bass yet, it has a killer "wanna have"-effect!
it's about two years i looked around for a preci... tried this'n'that, squiers cv, mv, dirnt and sting, fenders of all sort like the avri '62 or the american standard even some hw1 again; not good enough or too expensive... (we have no big fender-stocks to chose from)
then i stepped into a store and was convinced at once... WANNA HAVE!!!
and best is: i've got it in germany for about sfr1400.- (which is around 1200$)

Now about my box. It would seem that there are those here who covet my box, it's my box! They should know that cardboard doesn't float. they'll float just fine.

I dunno guys... I'm thinking Cheerio might be legit...

1. Same guitars and basses. Different setting.

2. He most likely can't be who Pepop thinks he is because there are almost no basements in Florida, and this is a basement photo... He could be someone else, but probably not a Floridian.

3. The pic came pretty quickly... Any adult who'd go through that trouble would really need to get a life...

4. He hasn't made any trouble here in spite of all the jabs he's received... Some one who was trolling would have had ample opportunity to raise some Cain by now....

5. I have not seen anyone else here recently with the same writing style and grammar... If he were a dual entity, with all those posts, he would have messed up by now and it would be easy enough to see some kind of similarity with another user...

I know I won't be popular with some of the crew here, but I say leave him be until he gives anyone a reason not to.... You have to admit, he does get this place hopping occasionally and that's not a bad thing....

If anyone has any irrefutable, hard evidence (matching I.P. addresses etc), present it now or cut the kid some slack....

This is the Precision Bass forum.... Not the Grumpy Old Bassist forum. :D

Thank you. :D

THAT is a NICE bass. Sorry to hear that the string spacing is not perfect. It should be!

Ron, Sabre, etc...If you guys bring the bus to SOUTH CAROLINA looking for me....you won't find me there! HAH! I'm in NORTH CAROLINA. Nothing could be finer! I did live in South Carolina, but not since 1980 when I moved to Charlotte area.

My GO BAG is ready! Sox, underwear, t-shirts, cutoffs...Metamucil, denture adhesive...Polident Overnight Tablets...Grecian Formula....I'm waiting...just honk the air horn.

I'm glad you've resigned yourself to the fact that you're coming on the "Magic Bus Tour", Brother Dave. Everyone involved is a fan of yours and members of NICP.

I'm disappointed in a way though, the expression on your face when you were abducted would have been priceless.

You're concerned about me? I'm not the one who made reference to a certain international visitor and a canine to be named sooner.
