We can rent an attachable roof carrier for the trip. We probably won't get 3 miles out of Ft. Meyers before we put Sabre in it.

I agree that the new case is the killerest case. It's fat and it looks like you could throw it down the embankment on Hill Rd. and not damage the bass. I have one. I think (who cares) that's the best case Fender ever came up with.

Now.. back to THE BOX!!!!!!! :D .......it's a very nice box..... I'm a little fuzzy on the Majic Bus thing though.

Stoker,

We're all going to Florida. Powerjazzbass, in Green Bay will make his way towards Pittsburgh where I'll hook up with him. We'll make our way and meet Pbassbob from Rhode Island will meet us and we'll go to South Carolina and abduct Brother Dave. From there we'll go to Ft. Meyers and pick up Sabre Lane.

Then we go to Tampa and stare at Zod's house until he comes out.

Then we go to Boca Raton and storm fjbasse's gated community.

You're welcome to come. You could hook up with PJB on his way or come to Pittsburgh.

Already talked it over with the rest, we all agree, you're in.

The date has not been set, this will be a spur of the moment thing, have a "go bag" ready.

when i start playing in '66 and bought my first preci in '73 there were no gig-bags, so i carried hsc for years... and i hated it, the band cellar was about 2km/1.5m from the bus-station and we rehearsed and/or jammed almost daily! now i use gigbags for more than 20 years and never ever something happened.
you see youngster, when you get older you'll have to put your energy in other than carrying heavy gear... and rock'n'roll seems to be a lifetime-thing, some of us gonna die while playing!

try taking off the barrels and flipping them over and remove the adj screws to the new"top"of the barrel,if you turn the barrels over it will change the distance that makes the strings sit in relation to each other,OR go but a badass II or B.A.III.,They will do the trick, they come unslotted on the badassII so you can customize the spacing to ur liking

thanks for advice but the barrels are equal... guess there's no chance to achieve results. :(
... and i don't want to change parts on that one, (at most making some barrels on my own maybe or providing me those old style barrels )

LowHz- I know about how heavy it is to carry a serious case. A band I was in played at a big 4th of July celebration once , downtown in our city of now 2 million +. We had to park almost a mile away. I had to carry my 74 P bass in the hsc along with my gig bag of junk. OH MAN! I had to stop and rest about every 500 ft!! Plus it was 90 degrees. I had never done that before and have never done that since. It's incredible how heavy it was. A person doesn't realize how heavy one of those can get by just carrying a case from a car into a building. I challenge anybody to walk in the shoes of a man carrying a bass a mile!!! HA! We're playing down there again this July and believe me-- I'm not carrying squat a mile!

OX- is that bus for real? That is one fine mode of transportation ! All my X's live in Florida. Wrote a song about it........ My kids (son and daughter) live down there too.
I need to do a vacation with the guys only. I've never done that. I tried to plan a trip with my buddies to Nashville to take in the sights, go to George Gruhns shop, and hit all the clubs where the great unknown players are. My wife said she would make me a name tag for when I get drunk and lost!! HAA!!! She's too much!! I don't drink hardly at all. It would be totally awesomely awsome to just hit the road. I'm a traveler at heart. I drove semi trucks for 15 years . That was work though.
Now comes the "band". Even though I don't want the band to take so much of my time--it does. I never expected it to be much more than a little band of old geezers rockin' a couple times a month. Well it's not that. At 55 I'm playing gigs (13 weeks in a row with 2 weekends off starting now), practicing, taking care of 2 properties etc etc etc. We are enjoying sucsess as a cover band that I never thought possible. A cover band and we're opening up for National acts along with our local and regional gigs. Offers coming over the phone. It's all really cool and all that but it makes my time to do other things very short.

So I guess I'll quit everything and hitch-hike across Rt. 70 over to the "Burg" and I'll be at the 84 exit or maybe I could just go over to Rt.77 and wait there. I'll be the guy lookin like he just hitch-hiked across 70. I'll make a Magic Bus sign on old torn cardboard with a used up marker! You can't miss me. Oh yeah-- whens' the bus leaving?? LET'S ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :D

I would have never guessed that you were a Geezer. Don't get worked up, I'm the senior Geezer here, the elder member, if you will. So far we have five Geezers and three Pups involved in "The Magic Bus Tour". One of the Geezers is the target of the siege.

The "Tour" is a dream we all share but, it really isn't that far fetched. Worst case scenario, we do it in three or four days at best. No, there isn't a tour bus, we're going to play the transportation by ear, it will all work out.

Glad to hear of your success in your music. My greatest accomplishment in the past year has been to re-arrange my gameroom and shuffle all my gear from one corner to the other. I have had incredibly bad luck finding other players.

My bass is my therapy, I play every day just to clear out my head and release some aggression.

All of our happy little group is glad to see you're joining in. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Don't be surprised if everything falls together at exactly the right time and we do get to make a trip.
