Would you prefer a brand new Hynuda or a used rolls royce...? go for the Mike Dirnt bass,I have neck trouble with just about every MIM bass I had,EXCEPT the M.Dirnt bass, the neck is HUGE and I believe that this Feature really helps keeping a neck from warping, over bowing(back & front)the electronics are of the 59 custom shop,so with good pick-ups and a stable neck to me its a great bass, and thats an opinion of someone who really dont like MIM basses.

I don't own one but I've tried one, the black model. Very nice feel on the neck and sounds great. I'd have preferred it with flats but then I'd have bought it. :P

This is just my opinion. Even though I'm not a big fan of Green Day and their music, I appreciate what Dirnt does on the band's work. If I ever decide to buy his model (I have this feeling I might, just for the pickups and the body shape), I'd go for the white as well. I already own a '51 2-tone sunburst and building my '58 copy in 3-tone sunburst, so having another 'burst isn't really an option. The black... I'm trying to sell one of my basses cos I don't really care for the color (black), so yeah, I'd go for white.

That's just me, it could vary with you. If I didn't have 2 sunbursts already (the '58 is almost done), I'd have gone with Dirnt's 'burst model cos it looks great.

I don't have any bursts. I like white though because its Mike Dirnt but it also reminds me of Paul Simonon both of whom I adore.

I've wanted one of the Fenders myself for some of the reasons already mentioned plus they SOUND better, play better and in the long run are a better investment. However, I'd for sure play it first to make sure that you like it. I like the vintage white myself. Realistically though, for many players and especially beginners, the Squier is really a good value but doesn't retain as much value if you decide to sell it.

I owned a Fender Mike Dirnt Artist Series P-Bass for over a year and hardly ever used it. While the guitar might be fine for some persons and the BA II bridge gives more sustain than standard Fender bridges, the slab body is heavy for gigging, especially when you have long sets to play through and that sharp edge on the top back of the body has a tendency to cut into your ribs after awhile. Before you purchase one, go to a reputable guitar store and TEST one for 20 minutes and see if it ergonomically fits you and your style. If you do finally decide to go with it, you may wish to try various thickly padded neck straps to distribute the weight over a wider area.

Neither model is US made[quote="aceysboy"]Thanks, so the American. I was leaning towards white whats your opinion? The better one will be the Mexican made while the Squier is Indonesian made.
I personally would go with the black w/white p/gaurd,it goes well w/rosewood fretboard, white body does'nt do it for ME(me alone)the Indonesian one is almost 300.00$ the Mex is like 700.00$ but used they are closer to the 500.00$ mark,I would personally own one of these IF I could get a nice 1 piece maple neck with a tele style h/stock,gots to have maple on this bass because it puts it right over the top.
