What bass guitar did John Leven play on the 1986 Final Countdown Tour? Looks to be a blue Fender. Not sure of model. Also, any info on the amp is appreciated. Thank you all!

Who cares? Europe sucked!

Do you really expect someone to remember what gear an insignificant bassist from an insignificant band played on an insignificant tour named after an insignificant song 25 years ago?!

Insignificant, wow you know some big words and are so articulate. Hmmm, Europe sucked, somehow that doesn't seem to be totally accurate. Lots of good music and musicians come from all over the world.

Perhaps the bassist in question was his inspiration to start playing, maybe there was a moment in his life that the music touched.

If you don't know the answer to the question, don't bother insulting someone who may have a sincere question.

Go over to Talk Bass, they like to insult each other, you'll fit right in.

Sorry you had to have that happen to you, Bass Pilot, not everyone is that rude.

No reply, he must have been on his way out the door right after he made his comment.

Oh look! There he is now!

Normally I won't reply until I have some knowledge of what I'm talking about. This time I didn't .

Europe was a Swedish band that enjoyed some moderate success.

There are some You Tube videos that are from the mentioned concert. Looking at them it's hard to say but, in some other places I went to, it looks like he was using a Fender bass.

On another site I see he endorses Sandbereg basses, a lot of which look a lot like Fender basses, that could have been a Sandberg.

No idea as what kind of amplification he used.

Easy, guys. I was just busting his balls. Hence, the laughing emoticon. My intent was not to offend. Perhaps I could have phrased it a little differently.

It's happened too often that a newbie comes on and somebody tears into them. If you had phrased it a little differently, this wouldn't have happened.

All over a band that really didn't deserve any time on here. That wasn't the issue though, somebody asked for a hand.

I've learned a lot since coming to these Forums, some real good things and some pretty much useless. Going hunting for info on that bass from the video, I found Sandberg basses.

Most of them are Fender copies, lots have 24 frets.

There, now you have some useless information too.

Also found a picture of John Leven today.

Deeptubes did throw the emoticons in his original post. Unfortunately text is always interpreted differently from one to another. But it was kinda harsh.
Sometimes you gotta have thick skin on the interwebz.

O.K., storm has passed. The tour is going to be great, we'll cause havoc in Guitar Centers everywhere we go! As far as the plan. All we need is everyone to get on the bus, we'll be fine.

My only concern is Brother Dave, I'm convinced he thinks we're kidding.
