I am trying to get a handle on the amount of insurance coverage I should have on my P-Bass. It is an MIJ J02XXXX made at the Fuji-gen plant in late '89. It's 9.8 out of 10. Color is sunburst with the tortoise pick guard (four layer?) and both pickup and bridge covers. I purchased it used in '99 for a little under $200.

The thing that stinks is that they will go with the amount you purchased it for, not the fair value amount. I'd second Sabre's suggestion. I gotta insure my stuff again too. We switched companies and never resubmit my stuff.

Thank you gentlemen. I had surmised as much that it would be a "subjective" amount relative to the current market.

I have State Farm for everything I own/drive/live-in and I have placed an additional rider (don't know if that's the actual term the insurance company uses) where my guitars are placed on a different schedule and insured for the amount I give them on an appraisal. I guess I'm gonig to have to bite the bullet and pay 30.00 - 50.00 bucks for another appraisal on all of them plus the amps as my current coverage is almost 5 years old and thhings have def changed in the market.

Thanks again and thanks for the welcome!
