From the looks of it, not really. I think the Mustang is a good short-scale version of the P-Bass, even though its technically not a P-Bass.

guess as long they sell the mustang there'll be no other shorty in the rows.
i also think a shortscale-preci will not make the match, the loss of sound would be to big...
a mustang or musicmaster would surely do the thing.

I just ordered a Precision Bass Jr.
I found a used one at Guitar Center online.

It has a 28.59" scale with a pbass pickup.

I couldn't find that much info online about them, but I guess there was a limited amount of them made in the mid 1990s. Scaled down version of pbass with pbass hardware. The pics online look to have smaller tuners though. It also only has a volume knob.

In the limited amount of info I found, mostly good things said about them, has the real pbass sound, even though it's a shorty.

Yes they do,Mexico and Japan are the 2 models to choose from,from when I saw it looks like the body is smaller and the neck is looks close to regular scale size,no diff in the neck just the body
