I wholeheartedly agree with drummers as second.

No. Most bassists aren't on some kind of ego trip like the majority of a band's other members. Most bassists actually care about the quality of the total product rather than just themselves.

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.

Well not in every band. When the lead vocalist decides to go off the page and do things differently than it has been rehearsed 300 times, I can get pretty testy. LOL

Yeah; I must confess I have a small Horror/Sci Fi book collection as well as DVD's. Been a classic Horror fan since 5 years old & in my early teens the weekly treat was chiller theatre 11:30 Saturday nights. There was no VCR's back then (early 1970s). Soon after that I wanted to play bass so there must be some connection?

Me too. Hey BP, where are you from? In Pittsburgh we had Chiller Theater. I've never heard of it being anywhere else.

For those of you that weren't familiar with the show, that's Bill Cardille and Terminal Stare. Many nights I'd be up late watching and go to the bathroom, only to hear some creature lurking in the house. I'd wait till I heard my Mom pull up, she worked nights, and make a break for the bedroom because i knew the monster was after her.

Sure was. He was the host of "Studio Wrestling" here in Pittsburgh. Every Saturday we went to my Grandparent's for dinner. Wrestling would come on and my Granddad would be eating his dinner in front of the T.V. with me and my cousins.

Golden memories of good times long gone by.

When he passed away, I told my 4 cousins we should go to a wrestling match in honor of our "Pop". We did. It was the one and only time going to one, pretty much a waste of time but we had a great time together honoring our Grandfather.

He was champ for a long time. 1963 to 1971

That's when wrestling was still fun to watch, totally outrageous and bizarre.

I'm from Rhode Island near Providence. We had Chiller Theatre on a local sttion & creature Feature on Saturdays on a Boston station. All the 30'sclassic, Frankenstein series, Dracula, Invisible Man & the odd ones like Old Dark House & Night Key were on Chiller at night. The Saturday afternoon ones were like Creature From The Balc Lagoon, Beast From 20,000 Fatoms & other giant monsters. This bring back memories. Then I want to take bass lessons & my mother got me lessons & the teacher sold her a beat blue musicmaster bass! Those were the days!

My wife's Uncle worked for WIIC T.V. in Pittsburgh for years. Back in the day they did whatever needed done, cameras, sound, editing whatever. He would work the wrestling show and get to hang with the wrestlers in the cafeteria.

He told me the two most intelligent and classiest men in the business were Captain Lou Albano and George Steele.

The Crawling Hand was one of the memorable ones. My Mom and I were watching my two cousins. We watched that movie on a Saturday afternoon and my youngest cousin who was five, didn't sleep for a week.

You guys all talking about this horror stuff makes me think of Bill Cosby's Chickenheart bit. A real gut buster for me, and I only watched the stuff from time to time. You guys will probably get a LOT more mileage out of it.
