Ho-kay, so, I have an '08 P-bass Standard. I was wondering if it is at all possible to figure out what kind of body wood I have. I have faith in my fellow Fender boarders.

Stay groovy.

It should be alder, I don't think by '08 Fender stopped using poplar. If it's ash usually it's some sort of color that will show the grain pattern.

I believe my 78 Sabre is poplar, and it's taken a lickin' and still keeps tickin'!

If I could have my way, I'd have an oak body!
(And I'd probably have a ruined spine after a week of playing it.) :)

My respit care person - my oldest is autistic, has our digi camera. I'll take a pic of that body I made hs woodshop later tonight with my cellphone and post it Sabe ;)
