Could someone measure their neck for me? I asked a seller for the scale, and he measured from the tip of the headstock to the end of the neck - 33". I'm not home, so I can't measure mine at the moment. I just want to know if this is a short scale bass or not.

I hope no one snakes this and that it doesn't go too high. I'm just gonna sit here at my desk for the next few minutes until it ends...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... NA:US:1123

My first electric back in 89/90 was an 80s MIJ Strat, and it ruled. I remember paying for it with a ziplock bag full of coins, singles, and a few fives adding up to $175. Took me forever to save that at 13/14. I don't even like Strats or play e-guitar anymore, but I still want that one back.

I don't want it to go much higher. Earlier today it was still in the $200s, but now it's nearly $400, so we'll see. Thanks for the support. :)

That's what I do, too. I was still highest bid at about 5 seconds, then I was outbid.

Did you win it???? :?

No. I should've gone a little higher with my highest bid, but I don't know what the winner's high was, so I might've lost anyway. I hate buying on eBay anyway, but I watched this one for a few days and thought it might be worth it. Oh well. :/

I'm not terribly worried about it. As a rule I don't like to buy something without playing it first anyway, so it's all good. I finally found one of the two Ps I want to try out (50s P Roadworn) about an hour away, so I'll check it out this weekend. As luck would have it, they have the Tele my buddy is looking for, as well.

You just have to put in your max bid and then you don't need to wait up late and try to bid in the last few seconds. Anyone who has done the max bid thing will beat you if his is higher and will probably be doing something else more entertaining or sleeping.

People who put their max bid in early, usually lose...
People who have been following it, get used to the last price and decide to go higher at the last few minutes because they really want it...
Or because they got into the competitive thing.

I let them rest comfortably and hope they maxxed out cheap because they didn't see any action after their bid...

I've done very well like that. :D

I agree. I've won items for a few cents over someone else because of my method. Bidding anytime before the end only drives up the price.

You must be in a different tax bracket. :P
I don't consider that "short money".

No way I can afford that luxury. That's almost a year's worth of mortgage payments.
