I have lots of balloons! Go down the street to the storm sewer and look in. I even have balloons that say "Sabre Lane HB-1" on them as well as "Stardust" and "pbassbob loves salad".

Everybody come down! Bring your friends too!

Sabre, that's one fine looking piece. Much respect for the concept, the looks, and most importantly *the results*! Outstanding and may it play long and low. Isn't it great when a project comes together and saves you a bowl of money at the same time? Yours is like what I did to that road worn x 100. Great job. Ed

Mr. Lane-- Your HB-1 Axe is quite the bass. Forgive me if I am a late comer to the thread but I was just noticing the supreme exacticating -ness of the outstanding features and their proximity to the "One". It must be shear pleasure to feel the essence of such a bass that didn't cost $4000 but plays like a gift from the bass Gods.

I am wondering something....... Since the bass has the sound of the Thunder and is as vast as the Oceans' depth-- I can only imagine the plain of existance you would reach should you happen to remove those flatwound strings and replace them with the nectar of RotoSound Roundwound stainless or nickel stainless bass guitar strings. Could you ever think of doing such a thing?

It sure is a nice looking neck. I have a warmoth Tele neck. It puts too much treble in the bass. Must have something to do with the steel rods in the neck? I love the way it feels but not the way it sounds.

Yes its maple. I usually like the brighter sound of maple but this one is really bright.
