How does the TBX tone circuit differ in performance from the standard treble bleed? And, would you suggest it as a mod?

The Duff P-Bas has the TBX pot.

The TBX was OEM standard on the Elite P-Bass (I & II), the "Boner" P & J-Basses and the Jazz Bass Special for which the Duff P-Bass is based.

Why not build an HB-2 with an American Deluxe FMT 22-fret Jazz neck, an extra Jazz pickup in the bridge, 3-way toggle and a series/parallel push-push button for the neck pickup? I know that the HB-1 has 21 frets, but an extra 22nd fret might be more useful for complex basslines.

The HB-2 would be based on a Precision Bass Plus, though I prefer letting your imagination to decide...

The "Lane HB-1" is great, glad you got what you wanted. i know you really wanted your daughter to play it, glad it happened.

Now, Rez, slide down this way, we'll meet up wit Bob, go through the south and pick up Brother Dave, then Sabre will have a very eclectic source of reviewers. We'll bring in The General for his expert opinion too. If gbass isn't out trading or buying, he's not too far away.

Congrats!

If we keep talking about it we'll probably do it! I think we should. You know, it's not too hot down there yet, Rez.

So SB, having the parts already, just wanting an alder body for $200 (apx) and staining it, I should be really saving money huh?

I can't find my book shelf I built from my senior year in HS...man, it was cherry wood, stained light cherry. Nice, smooth. Yours is really nice there Bob. I have a bass body I made out of American Walnut. The problem is the neck is not pocketed nor is it routed. It's heavy, and my wife has it in our room with candles and pics of our kids on it. It sits on the dresser. I should take a picture of it. Stained and cleared.
