Today, my 2006 Fender Highway One Precision bass with Dimarzio Model P pickups and DR Sunbeams played fingerstyle thru a Tech 21 VT Bass pedal into my Ampeg BA115 cranked up sounds so fuggin' good in my mancave! Too bad I have a 3:17pm tee time.

Just thought that I would share.

Well, a 3:17 Tee Time vs playing bass? Well this time of year in the northern hemisphere you must be at least a 10 handicap to finish 18 when walking by dark when starting at 3:17.

There is a place for bass and there is a place for golf. Golf is a good walk spoiled. Bass is the place where all real musicians do eventually go. Golf is the game of a lifetime. Bass is either IN YOUR HEART or it is not. Decisions, decisions...I think bass is the INSTRUMENT of a lifetime. Just my opinion. If I had a choice of playing bass with some other cats or playing golf with some other cats, music WINS 100% of the time. Golf is what I play when I can't find anyone to play music with...and I should add that I live precisely on a golf course, and I am on the 13th fairway, last house on the right....and I am a club member. Golf is OK but it is not music. I can get you an earlier tee-time here. I have connections.

Just more P-Bass love. I go back and forth every few weeks or so between my P and J. I always love the feel and sound of my P-Bass. Just groovin' away fingerstyle.
The cat loves it too.

I jumped back to the Precision. I tried it at the shop through a Marshall MB4210. I knew if it sounded that great through the MB4210, the MB4410 I've got would really sound it out.

I agree w/some of the others,I have always loved the sound of the Jazzbass growl especially in the first 5 frets, once I played a jazzbass I was hooked.
But I always had a p-bass in my arsenal and have always preferred the slightly smaller body but I loved the neck and its thick solid feel and it also is'nt as temprermental in weather/humidity as the newer size Jazzbasses can be.
Back when I had my Japanese Jazz-special it was truely a great combination that showcased all the designs of both the jazz and p-bass,A Dimarzio p-style pickup nailed the vintage rock/metal while staying true to the p-basses roots coupled w/hot jazzbass style pickup at the bridge section gave up all the nasel tight tone we have all associated with many of the 70's players who use a Jazzbass.
Now i am making a Japanese vintage p-bass,78 Memphis one piece maple/maple neck, a Jazz & P-bass combonation,70's Fender scripted tuners and a Gotoh bridge(or a original 80's Brass bridge from a US active p/j bass)I just need the pickups to finish it.Its really nothing but a assortment of Japanese parts that really work well.
Its amazing how parts from all diff Japanese makers all fit each other perfectly(or damn close to it)talk about consistentcy, you cant that any-longer unless its of the exact same model and manufactorer and even then its not guaranteed to inter-change.
