I think they are a killer bass and I think they are over priced but I have seen them on Ebay from $450 to $700 the Jazz gets more. If you can get it for a fair price I would get it . Its worth what your willing to pay everyone is different but thats what I think. Good Luck

You ended it with a safety when you say : " Its worth what your willing to pay everyone is different but thats what I think."

but what is overpriced compared to? In order for it to be overpriced because its in comparison to something else, what is the something else. The E series MIJ had a better quality compared to the MIA of the mid 80s. The price new was also high, compared to the MIM of the day.

AWWWW Yeah! those non exported Aerodyne basses are freakin Saweet(now a few dealers will ship them like Ishabashi music)A maple neck would put the dolphin grey ones over the top,I played a bunch of the black non-pickgaurd type and really was'nt overly impressed with the bass, but we get the models that a little budget minded compaired to the ones made for Japan which are well built, they have a feeling about them that feels like a nice American jazz bass does,it got that well built heavy tonewood feel, nice anda beefy.
I do love the vast assortment of p-basses,all the new styles along with all the benchmark year models in both a budget model(basswood body, cheaper h/ware,import pick-ups)and also the up-graded versions(alder&ash bodies,U.S.pickups,vintage style hardware&maple neck options)it allows all types of musicians to be able to get their fav. model without having to sell their homes, and man are they peeerty basses.

That site is awesome, the blue one with the tortise pg is sweet, I also liked the ash. The way Fender America is going, seems the Japanese products are going to surpass them.
