Came home to a message on the answering machine, the tech wanted to ask me about the installation. I called and he said it was done. Went to pick it up and the price went from $40 to $68, being the reasonable person I am  , I said no. They wanted to give me a song and dance about re-wiring, I told him the first time I talked to him what I wanted, he said $40. That's what I paid. :D

Brought it home tuned it and powered up. I really wish I had the words to express myself, all I can come up with is, "Holy $@!&, Brownie's grown huge balls!" Sorry if that offends anyone but, "Holy $@!&, Brownies grown huge balls!" :o

My bass roars, it sounds like John Entwistle's Frankenstein now. Would you think that would make oxfan a little happy? 8)

I'm completely blown away by the way it sounds and to have the pots working perfectly is amazing. I would thank our resident expert by name but he's such a shy and humble guy, he'd be embarrassed. He gave me the direction to find exactly whaty i wanted.

To him, Thank you! Print this out and hold it to a mirror, his name is;

evadrehtorb

Wish I had more time to talk about it, I'm gonna go play now! :D

Thank you everyone, I wouldn't have paid it, what a joke. I labored long and hard over a decision and, the pups are what I wanted, just got in, gonna rattle the windows, just me and the cats here.

Getting there, I was a little disappointed my order didn't get here in time to put the GHS set on before I tried it out for the first time. I was up last night seeing how well is sounded on Who material. It sounds as if it was made for it. When I first tried some Motown, I had to get creative with my Tech 21. Changed amp settings and used some muting material and it sounds great.

You really are a bad influence. You've got Pbassbob on another mission and I am starting to obsess over a strap I saw, Levy's red alligator, and a case.

You have to be a plant.

He is good, and a nice guy as well...read some really good writeups on the Lindy Fralin Jazz pickups this morning. I'll ask him tomorrow if he's had a chance to work with them and what he thinks of them. They're a little pricey ($180 for the set), so I'm going to dig a bit before making those "Decisions, decisions, decisions" of which you speak.

I don't mind the cost, as long as they're all that they're supposed to be - looks like the new owner for the Frankenbass will be ready in a week or two to pull the trigger, so I'll be able to recoup most of the cost and have some upgrade dollars to play with.

I liked the guy that did mine, I didn't appreciate him trying to work me for more money though. There is so much technology available today, you'll make yourself crazy comparing pickups, I know I did. Then when you finally get them, someone you really respect, , mentions his Demarzio's and you get a slight case of the "what ifs?"

You did catch what I said in an earlier post about wondering what Omega would sound like with the equivalent pups in her. We bass players are a strange lot.

It's human nature. Really glad to hear you found a home for Frankenbass. Just stay away fro E-Bay and ignore fjbass, you know he's a plant from "EE".

Nothing reasonable ever catches my eye. The 3" Levy's Mock Crocodile in red is in my sights. I have two other Levy's, both 3", one is brown with carvings and the other is black with bats.

As far as cases go, the Fender is a great one. I have a Roadrunner that was a throw in when I got my VM. It's not the best case but, it's light and offers adequate protection.

you just can't give it a rest can you? How do they pay you? Commission? You must be doing well.

From everything you've said, she sounds lovely. She scares me though. The needle thing is a problem.

I have a hard time with birds too, anything that get's up that early in the morning and sings, I wonder what their hidden agenda is. Never thought of that did you?

The houseplant thing is another issue, what is she growing? Has she been making you more "salads" lately? I've been watching Criminal Minds way too much.
