Just talked to the tech who will be installing my SPB-3 in my Precision. Taking it in tonight and he'll do it tomorrow. Ordered new strings on line, hopefully they'll be here today. No biggie, I'll just get a set there.

Next step, pretty up Omega. I actually think I'm going to be satisfied, at least for a while.

What strings are you using?
I assume you are going for the Entwistle sound. Good luck with the new pup, let us know how it sounds.

I'm going with GHS M3045 for the first time. Heard a lot of good things about them and decided to give them a try.

8) You cant go wrong with an spb-3 in a P-Bass buddy, I've got them in my 78 and also in my Steve Harris sig. How about a BadassII aswell? Again I always put them on mine, and now being able to get them with grooved saddles makes it plug and play! GAS GAS GAS!!

Thanks for the reply Fuzz, encouraging words are always appreciated. Right now I've got a different kind of GAS. It's Guitar Away Syndrome, my bass isn't here! It's the first time he's been away overnight. I keep looking over and it's not there.

I put my Jazz in it's stand but I still know it's not there. Working too many hours with too little sleep tends to warp one's reasoning. :)

I can't wait to play it!

I'm good with the bridges on all three. Recently bridges have been in hot discussion on the threads. Quite a few cons on Badass Bridges. Personally I have no opinion, I'm just waiting to order parts to make my Jazz look pretty.

Oh really on the Badass? I shall have to take a look into that, I always thought they were pretty well regarded....

Haha I'm prettying up my Jazz too - just got one of the new FSR Squier VM's in Sunburst. Very nice too. Already put Badass on it, awaiting normal Jazz bass knobs, it has knurled chrome ones, but I'd like it to look a little more traditional.

All the best mate! :)

Lot's of opinion's on here, some good some not so good. Lot's of good people willing to share and help. As I said, there have been some discussions about the Badass Bridges, they were in vogue for quite a while, they've fallen a bit out of favor.

I have a VM in the natural finish, had the sunburst been available I'd have opted for that without a doubt.

Thanks for the conversation.

Here's the wide shot, notice the hurt look on my MIM P's face, she knows she is now second fiddle uh err bass now.. :D But that doesn't compare to the very upset look on my J bass in the back who had to surrender her strings for a few days until I could get down to the music store. The new baby came with piano strings so had to get some flat wounds on her asap.

Image

Not sure if these are going to come out since they are on my own web. Here is a closeup.

Image

And one from the back. Reason my backup strings wouldn't work is that they were cut too short for a feed through the body bass.

Image

Makes an old fart like me look good doesn't it?
