I've been thinking about taking up the bass. I've played guitar for 10 years and now want to try something new. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent (used) bass for $400 or less. I don't want to spend too much in case I decide its not for me.
Thanks

Hey! I would suggest trying a Squier p-bass as your first one. You should be able to get one for really cheap close to where you\re from. Check the local Craigs list or kijiji or even ebay. You'll see that they are inexpensive. And so if you don't like bass in the end, your ok! And if bass is for you, then you can upgrade to a nicer one..

For sure you can get one for way less than $400

I think your best bang for your buck might be a Fender Mexican Jazz.

Used MIM Fender, or new Squier.
