Lazy day today. Went to dinner with my parents for my dad's birthday last night, and today we gotta recover. Had a small cold front go thru late last night, just drop the humidity down a notch. That natural alarm clock wakes us up early so we hit the grocery store, made breakfast, and now we're lounging on the couches. She's asleep, I'm going to.

Oh yeah, so I did go to GC today to ck out the Special. I am not impressed. I played with a Pbass with maple, and the J with both maple and rosewood. It just doesn't scream, I'M WORTH $999!!! I'd go for the HWY 1 before spending the extra loot on the Am Spcl. I finally got my hands on the VM Pbass Maple tho...really like the action on that sucker. No buzzing, nice action, great set up on the rack already. I played all thru the Fender Rumble 150, it also has the horn on this bass, which I didn't like the sound with the horn on. Man that place is always busy. Some kid showing off his Van Halen skills told me I should play the bass and backed him up. I told him, "if you play your own writing, I would feel honored, but you're showing off with someone else's writing, so no thanks..." It seem like everyone have to play on 10 at that place. I did get to try out the Am Spcl which is why I went there. I think if you're going to spend the money on it, buy the HWY 1 and get a case for it, or save up a few hundred more and get the AM Std. That's only my opinion tho.

Sunday's the only day I really wake up late - about 0800 in the am...but Monday/Tuesday, which are my days off, I'm up @ 0600 making bfast and school lunches for both kids. Then I wake them up around 0630. I let the dog out when I get downstairs.

Everybody's gotta have a "show-off" song. Mine usually is the "Oompa Lumpa song".

I like the theme song from The Muppet Show, Animal is almost a carbon copy of Keith Moon, he totally rocks.

Doesn't everyone enjoy the free concerts at Guitar Center, they're all alike'

As to the American Specials, I'll say what i always end up saying.

"I hate being right all the time"

Buy the American Standard.

I usually just go with different scales, different arpegios, maybe some slap/pull off. Nothing fancy, too many people around that are 'rock stars' already :)

Sweet SB P bass-- that's what my 74 looked like new. Well it had a black p guard. It smelled good too. I love the smell of new guitars. I don't love the smell of cheapo Chinee guitar cases though. UHHHG!!!! Nice bass!
