I am hopefully getting a Mexican Precision shortly in a trade, how much thicker is the body compared to my Korean made Squier Precision, The neck pocket on the MIM / MIA Precision looks deeper than the Squier. Is this for a reason I'm looking forward to getting my MIM Precision, Thank you for your help.

My Squier is thicker and heavier than my MIM. G'luck with your trade!

Gutted the deal fell through at the last minute. But even though I have my '89 Squier Precision, I'm determined to get a Fender Precision just got to start saving.

Hey, don't get all snobbish on us now. Take care you Squier, if it works, you like it, don't knock it. My Squier build quality way surpass my MIM's build quality. You don't have to have Fender on the headstock to have a keeper. If you like the way it plays but not the sound, you can put in Fender pups in there. If you want a Pbass, save up, maybe you can even go the Am Std :) Good luck either way!

Thanks Gentlemen firstly I'm not getting snobbish,or putting the Squier down but the opposite. I have spent about 20 years avoiding the Precision, my girlfriend bought me the Squier secondhand back in 1998 but the following year let it go. Anyhow in 2008 I wanted my Squier back & luckily the owner sold it back to my girlfriend AGAIN, and then the Precision GAS kicked in.

I suddenly realized that the Squier sounded really good & I liked the slimplicity of one pickup 1 vol & tone. So with a family to support first my Precision GAS has had to wait, but I know that I will have to get a Fender Precision so the saving starts in earnest. My regret is that I did'nt get one years ago (I'm probobly not the only one) who went through all the bass fads only to find out that the bass I should have got was all ready there SORRY FENDER.

Looked at them & they are very good, remind me a bit of the JV Squier's of the 80's.

Please don't take offense, I didn't say that to be a put down. I get Fender snobbish sometimes too, but then I realized there are many makes that are better ;)

no offence taken I know it was'nt a put down. Like I said before I'd spent years avoiding the Precision, only to have really bad GAS for one & I may as well get one that says Fender on the headstock.
