The wife asked for and got a 2 disc Moody Blues compilation for Christmas. There are about 34 tracks on these two CD's. I just got around to listening to it. It covers the group from the early days until the most recent recordings. One thing stood out throughout amongst all the style changes over 35 years and that was that the bass work was consistently perfect for the song. In many the bass line was the best thing the song had going for it. I have to add John Lodge to my list of great players I'd like to play LIKE. He's so good that I had to play some songs twice because what he was doing was just so musically solid.

I'm a big fan of John Lodge too. His playing has always been a level I've reached for. Entire band is pretty good too.

As I mentioned a while ago, I bought a Kustom KB100 amp, without the Sansamp, it gives his sound quite well.
