O.K. They're on the fender home page, there are pics and a flyer. When are they going to be available? They're stamped "Made in USA".

Anybody know anything?

With all the buying and trading going on, I'm getting an itch.

Don't mention this to fjbass, he'll trade in his new American Standard Jazz.

Thor no more.

I was on MF, Friday and they weren't showing it. Thanks for the replies.

Glenn, I envy you for having a Sam Ash and other options nearby, you too Rez. I can't remember if you named the places but, you have real stores. All I've got is three Guitar Centers within 30 miles, and they aren't that great. All the other stores are really a waste.

Hopefully someone will get some in, I want to play one. I won't buy something sight unseen, got to play a bunch to find the right one.

Can't imagine how poor Thor feels, getting adopted then getting put in the "Used Gear Kennel", so sad.

Nah Ox, I got a local store here...GC's about 30 miles south of Green Bay. I'd rather go to my local then spend my hard earned cash @ GC...just a preference of mine. Sam Ash to me has gone down hill too, but I think since fjbass is in FL, probably has a lot to do with Sam Ash down there being better. Their Corp office is down there I think.

Oh man, as happy as I am for the Pack...I am a Steelers fan...so tough to see them lose, but the Pack played the better game!

They are in Long Island, still run by the Ash family apparently. For some reason I thought they were from FL...The only good service I've ever experience was the Edison, NJ store - which is where I bought my '87 from. All the other ones from NYC - where I was from were not so good. GC is here in Wisc, just not in GB, but the Milwaukee (Brookfield) wasn't that good, nor the one in Appleton, albeit very friendly staff there.

My thing with the American Special is, it's new and I'm curious. It comes with a gig bag so there's a considerable amount of money. The case with the Standard is nice.

There is a REAL store outside of Pittsburgh that is a great guitar store, been there forever and everyone there is a player. Only problem is, it's 60 miles away with every way there through traffic.

I have to agree with you fj, not a lot of younger players will appreciate the RW.

Thanks again to you both.

Ox, I'm surprised that Pitt doesn't have a local music store that is the staple of the town...60 miles is quite a long way from a major city for a music store.

The standard for years and years was Hollowoods Music and Sound. They were where everyone bought because they were the best. Their inventory has shrunk tremendously. The other was and is still, Piano's 'n Stuff in a ton named Blawknox, for you Google map enthusiasts. They have a great selection and know what they're selling. They're 60 miles away. Being an impulse buyer, it's hard not to travel 25 or 30 miles to a GC.

Back in the day there were small stores everywhere, you could buy almost anything local, they're all gone now except for a couple. The one just announced that their new featured line is Jay Turser.

You'll love this one, back in my most active days I bought all my guitars at a furniture store. They Had every Fender, Gibson and Epiphone guitars and basses made.

Remember, I go back a long way.

Wow, I wish they still have those mom and pop music store. In the 90's in Manhattan, I used to peruse the used/music pawn shop in Chelsea (mid Town). Good deals there, get treated well, better than Manny's...these were times where Manny's had Rockers and musicians as their clients. I think I'm a little younger than you guys. Zod and I are in the same age group tho :)

Darn kids! :P

Considering Manny's clientele, it isn't any wonder why they looked down on regular people.

I think Sam Ash owns the old Manny's store now...Larry Hartke is known to be hanging out there now and then. He's awesome. He actually replied to my email twice, both time before 24 hrs of me sending it to him.

to a guy in his late 30s with 2 children, Ampeg amps are still expensive :) But as stated above by me, with the way Larry (Hartke) conducted his business with me, I'll be playing his product for a long time.

Wow, I can't wait for that - college years I mean. My one will always stay with us (autism) but our young one has a 'few' more years yet before college.

You didn't name the Ampeg, did you?

Just for the record, When fj and I first started out long ago, we had to walk for miles in the snow to our local music shops. We'd collect pop bottles for the deposit, big ones got us a nickel each! :D Then we'd save our allowances and shovel snow in our neighborhoods and caddy on the weekends.

You youngsters don't realize how easy you got it!
