Hello,
I am looking for a replacement plastic case logo for my fender bass guitar case.
Can the crew at Fender help me with this?

Thanks.

You can use a host site, like imageshack, or photobucket (which I use). It will give you a step by step way to post pix from there. G'luck!!

If they are as protective of their case logos as they are of their headstock decals, you might have to go directly to Fender, probably through an official Fender service center and prove with pictures and an examination by an officially recognized Fender representative that this is a repair for a real Fender product. Try e-mailing Fender's consumer relations dept. and see if they might be able to help with that info.

I think that logo without the tail is one of the earliest. That is the logo on the case of my 1966 P-Bass. You might find on on ebay or another auction site. I'm not sure Fender even produces those.

That case badge logo was supposedly used one model year only, 1966. That would be July 1, 1966 through June 30, 1967. It stands out because it is has no tail under FENDER and has no "R" trademark symbol or "Made in USA" on it. There may be a tiny bit of overlap with a handful of 65's or 67's getting one of these cases, but that would be extremely rare.

It would take a miracle to find just the logo. Your best bets are to visit any regional guitar shows with about 100 copies of your "want list" and distribute it to dealers there. Might also be a good idea to post this need on the TALKBASS forum. Last resort would be to find a trashed up 66 case that happens to have a reasonably intact logo and salvage it. Expect to pay big money for a 66 case in any condition even with broken latches and hinges. We are talking about a nearly 45 year old case badge here. That is not an easy find, but it is possible. I'd be shocked if Fender had any. The good news is that the badges were the same on all the cases no matter the instrument. So a Strat case logo was the same. That makes the chances better.

First Fender case badges were a chrome rimmed rectangular black plastic badge with black background with silver raised FENDER spaghetti logo which were applied to the tweed cases of 1957 to early '58. They were easily knocked off and it is EXTREMELY rare to see one on a case as the ones that were not knocked off eventually just fell off. I mean finding one still on a case is nearly impossible. So Fender abandoned case badges until the one you in your photo used that one model year only.

Next came the TAIL logo used 1967 to 1971. The tail is sort of a reinforcing swoosh under the FENDER. The swoosh tail didn't help much and many of these were broken over the years.

1972-1975 models (and even some some 76 & 77 I've seen) have a small "R" trademark symbol over the "R" in the FENDER script. (These do NOT have the "Made in USA" script.)

The LAST Fullerton case badge was the "USA" badge. I've seen some 1976 models guitar cases with "MADE IN USA" added UNDER the FENDER script. These also have the small "R" trademark symbol over FENDER script. The badges with the tiny "Made in USA" script under the FENDER script were the last case badges used for Fullerton instruments. Fender obviously had a quantity of the non-"USA" scripted badge cases for basses on hand and continued to use them up, or people maybe switched cases.
