hi everyone,
I found this community while searching for details about my Fender Precision Bass on the internet.

I own a classic (?) Fender Precision bass in 3-Color Sunburst, rosewood fingerboard,
Serial number: V016690 on the neck/bridge plate

Can anybody please help me to find out the details about this bass.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Any pics where is the serial #? I think it might be a Japan 1996-97

The serial is on the neck plate. I'll take some pics tomorrow and will post them.
But it's definately a mid 80's edition. Think it must have been 84/85 when the 1st owner bought it. From what I figured out it could be a Corona. But I'm not 100% sure.

Ok that helps It must be a vintage one you have to pull the neck to find the specific year I think

Correct GoodInBed, that is a U.S. Vintage Series. Quoting from the Brother Dave Fender Field Guide:
"V + 4 to 6 digits (U.S. Vintage Series) = 1982-1988
V + 5 to 6 digits (U.S. Vintage Series) = 1989-present (model dependant)"

So it could be either Fullerton or Corona! The Fullerton Vintage Series ones are much more valuable to collectors, so the neck code is REALLY important to know as the ones from 1982 through 1984 were Fullerton. The Fullerton ones have mostly been hoarded by collectors but every now and then one pops up.
