I had a Squier VM Jazz Bass in Natural, but ended up selling it cos I didn't use it that much, and figured it would be a waste of a good instrument if I left it lying around. Stuck with my Precisions ever since.

Only own an American Standard Precision... Ive always prefered it to the jazz, just the simplicity of it... And i love the tone ive achieved with it :D

No jazz here! I own an 04 Mexican p bass and an Olp music man I guess you could call it. I play the p mostly and sometimes when I want to tone it down a bit!

I am addicted to the meaty growl of a jazz bass but love the feel of the p-bass neck so I need to own both models,I am VERY happy with my 60th anniversary american standard jazz bass(3tsb,r/wood f/board,S-1 Series/Parrell switch, rolled edges and abalone dots)when its switched to series(opposite of the usual wiring)it really comes alive,it does NOT sound like the p-bass its supposed to mimic, its more like a jazz bass tone boosted 2x's over(not too much, but just enuff).
BUT on the otherhand there's just something to be said about a beat-up 3 tsb p-bass with a maple neck, they just look the part and are so simple in design but sound inherintely different with each player,I when ready will make a hybrid bass not offered by Fender and cant really figure out why they dont, they have every different pick-up scheme imaginable but a P-Bass body(3 tsb)with a set of Jazz bass pickups w/S-1 switch and a maple neck w/telecaster h/stock(1 piece maple but of course)it would be nice and light, well balanced and un-like any other Fender around(unless made by another person).
The smaller body would change the tone just enuff and a tele style h/stock would balance it out perfectly, and with that I humbly exit while i'm ahead

I finally got the "new" Jazz bass back this past week. Alls I can say is, it was definitely worth the wait!!! The neck is wonderful, a bit chunky but much more comfortable than a skinny J neck. Tone is great, even with the stock MIM p-ups. Maple with the black body & white guard looks very cool too!

I've got a USA Precision Deluxe as well as a Squier Deluxe Active V. Does that count?
