Why is it that the Floridians have all the answers? Very good advice Sabre, it would look good on Easter morning but, I'm sure someone would get offended.

Remember the story of the crosses they wore? They were meant to ward off evil.

We'll see if the "Florida Factor" affects you. It seems to happen to people who live in Boca Raton, you'll find an irresitable urge to buy, sell and trade equipment and basses. (fjbass)

The Ox is my number one influence. I spent a couple of years just working on his style and technique, if I spend another 10 or so, I may get it better. He is my favorite.

If you want to meet the guy in Boca Raton, I'm convinced he works at Guitar Center and just comes on here to incite buying frenzies. Since he showed up, we've all run out and bought or traded. Yes. be afraid, be very afraid.

I've had nothing but bad luck with E-Bay, every time I bid on something it goes through the roof.

I'm convinced Guitar Center sells "seconds" and doesn't let on.

Using the Sansamp Tech21 Bass Driver I've been able to create the Ox's sound, he used one too. The only thing I think I want is a Palmer Tube Emulator, he and Geddy both used and use them.

I've bought two things on EBay, neither bass related. Couldn't smell a thing I was bidding on, people are nuts.

I agree that Zak Starkey was the best replacement for Keith Moon, there will never be anyone to fill John's boots with The Who. There are a lot of players who can over the songs but it will never be the same.

Gonna stick the Quadrophenia dvd in, getting all sad here.

To all concerned:

Pbassbob is NOT one of the Evil Empire plants sent here to make us buy.

We've got new people showing up who need to be warned.

I'm sure there are a lot of guys and girls who may have never listened to or seen The Who. Before you start making nasty comments, lots of different tastes and styles here, to each their own. I've seen replies over the years and know they praise the bassists we're talking about then go back to whoever.

If you've never seen John Entwistle play, get the Quadrophenia dvd, the Tommy dvd or The Vegas Job, one of his last performances and his last live interview is on it. His 5:15 solo isn't as powerful as the one from Quadrophenia but it's still good, it's him.

You'll get to see Zak Starkey drumming his $@! off to, he is great.

Watching these makes me melancholy. I guess I'll put the headphones on and play some Who.

When I think of his last night, he lived like a rock star and died like a rock star. I wonder how much they paid the stripper to keep her mouth shut?
