Pesonally, no. I really have no use for any more than twenty frets.

Apart from the 2 octave aspect can I ask why you would want a 24 fret neck? does the music you play require it, curious to know.

Best regards.

i play in my high schools show choir and they give me free reign on fills and what not and i would like to be able to use an entire second octave for fills. ive played the jazz 24 and i love it put i would highly enjoy a p bass 24 because i like the sound better.

I've often thought 22 or 24 frets would be great to have. Reason? I like John Entwistle, sometimes more frets would be easier.

More frets for fun, OK I can see that, as for ~John Entwistle big fan here to, but old John didn't do to bad with a "normal" Precision though did he

A full 2-octave fretboard is too much for me. I prefer 21 or 22 frets because 20 seem to be not enough for playing complex bass lines.

What couldn't John do? His best IMO was everything he did up to Quadrophenia, all done on Precisions, he seemed to have that fascination for shiny things that we as bass players suffer. I think he went to 22 and 24 fretted basses because they were shinier.

His Bass Culture book has only has a selection of his collection but, he loved the instrument.

I never saw John playing a 22-fret P-Bass. :? Fender didn't produced 22-fret basses until the mid-to-late 1980s.

Not Fenders, he had many, many bass guitars. The Albemic, Modulus, Warrick and Status basses had more than 20 frets.

It's all about what a person wants. I'm happy with a conventional Precision. Always get distracted but, come to my senses.

I always liked a 22-fret neck, especially on a 4-string passive Precision fitted with a Jazz pickup in the bridge position. The design became extremely popular with makers such as Ibanez, Yamaha, Aria, Washburn and many others.

Fender's response was the Precision Bass Plus of 1989, considered as a serious attempt for making a high-quality US-made 22-fret passive PJ bass. Unfortunately this model lasted only a couple of years before being replaced by the active American Deluxe Series in 1995.
