Just wondeirng when Fender changed from the square heal neck to the radius neck? I recently bought a P-bass body that had a Tele neck on it, I don't have the neck unfortunately, but the neck pocket is square at the back.

If you've a P-Bass body with a Tele-style neck, then it's an early 50's single-pickup model.

Tele-style bass necks had a square heel until 1957 when the Precision Bass was redesigned to resemble to the Stratocaster. All P-Bass necks made from 1957 to the present day have rounded neck heels.

A Tele Bass neck could not fit on a Precision Bass body because of the square neck heel. I've seen various pictures of Precision Basses with Tele-style headstocks on the internet, but these basses are pretty unusual and very hard to find.

From my personal experience Fender never produced contemporary Precisions with Tele-style necks. If a Tele Neck P-Bass existed, then it was probably a Custom Shop limited-run one-off.
