Dear fellow Fender Precision bass guitar worshippers.
i have a beautiful to look a 4-stringed Fender Precision bass guitar but the scratch plate is broken and i cannot connect my lead into it, let alone play it with an amplifier. I have spent a great deal of time in 2010 trying to find a new scratchplate but all the music shops i have spoken to seem to give me a negative response. The Fender Precision bass guitar is, in my opinion, the world's greatest instrument and it does not deserve to be left hanging around a cupboard gathering dust with nothing else to do. So saying, "Is there anybody out there who can provide or donate me with a scratchplate for a Fender Precision bass guitar?" Right now, i don't know what to do next or where else to go in order to get it fixed. Believe me, all my options seem to have been used up to the max in trying to obtain a scratchplate. I would be eternally grateful for the assistance...

Type Fender P Bass pickguard into your search, it will give you a lot of options. Just be sure of what you have, American, Mexican, model, etc. There are a lot of choices.

Calling Fender customer service is good advice, if you give them your serial number, they can tell you what you have and the year it was made.

Good luck.

What the heck is going on here? Are you asking for a FREE pickguard?

So you can sell it on eBay?

A cracked...broken pickguard will NOT stop this instrument from working.

I taste a hair in my biscuit this morning.

Sell the bass and buy one without a broken scratchplate.

Use the link here....

They sell them all day long....I don't see what the problem here is.

Allow me to more graciously than I was behaving before suggest Jeannie Pickguards. I don't think you would be disappointed in the product. They can be kind of surly via email, but the product is first class.

If you can dodge a ball you can dodge a wrench.
If you can play a bass you can make a pickguard.
