I found a website that ships Japanese made fenders world wide. How is that possible? I though trade laws didn't allow this?

I don't think it's sold as new - someone correct me - but as a used item. You can buy whatever used item you want I think - thru some loopholes. Heck you can buy a classic Japanese car too, so what's a little bass :)

This site offers used and new. They have a 65RI and a cool 70's RI.

Then I don't know. That is cool, I did see a Aerodyne that I really liked.

Interesting! I have a 1970 RI (CIJ - serial no. for '99-2000) that's quite simply my favourite bass, by some margin. Build quality, and sound, to shame a lot of USA Fenders. I had no idea they were still building them new - unless the one you're referring to is s/h...

They say it is new on the site. The site is in the UK but they say they ship worldwide. Just hard to translate into US dollars

What's the price in GBP, jroxx? I'm in England myself, in Swanage, Dorset.

Mmm. Good price when you think the MIM Standard is around £400 and the American Standard £900 (average street prices) in the UK.

Think I just found your site, jroxx. Very nice PB70-US. Apart from an ash body where mine's alder, and the thumb rest (mine just has the screws for one) that's pretty much identical to the one I have. The USA Vintage pickup set is just phenomenal - IMHO warmer and fuller than SD Basslines.

789 GBP is 1240 USD this afternoon, according to Google; so £400 = $628 and £900 = $1414, give or take the odd cents.

And please, what is this website? I'd like to have a look and maybe post a link to them. Thanks in advance!
