New to the forum but have been playing Fenders for the past 20 years. Currently own 5 Fender basses with my main bass being a 98 American Standard P with quarter pounders and Baddass 2 bridge. Today I just ordered a Lake Placid Blue MIM Pbass with maple fretboard. I already have a spare Badass and Quarter Pounder for it. Should be a good bass! The MIM quality is so good these days it will probably compare to my 12 year old American.

Welcome to the Forums!!

There are lots of arguments about the functionality of the BadAss on our basses - I like the way it looks, and it got a little more sustain, be it!! If you like the sound of your American, I'd do the same to the MIM. Great thing about the current MIM - 1 word = progress :)

Just like my Squier feels more like a Fender than my '99, the new MIM feels closer to it's MIA cousin.

Post pictures to see your bass 8)

I have a Road Worn (MIM) P-bass that I bought in spite of the reliced finish simply because the bass plays so damn well. Best neck of any bass that I own - straight as a runway. Great lightweight body. Ensenada is putting out some nice product recently.

Lake Placid is a great looking color.
