Here is a pic of it. Not much to say really. I bought it new way back and used for many years day in and day out playing mainly 1960s, 70s 80s pop and rock n roll. It's a great bass, love it and still use it from time to time.

Awesome bass, thanks for the pic. Maybe you can help solve the mystery: Entwistle was quoted that the slab had a sound "much raunchier and gutsy and has a hint of distortion when the volume is flat out". Have you noticed the same? Have you ever measured the output of the pickup?
Still an awesome bass, regardless.

It looks in a less worn condition than mine. Has it been used much?

That's it, an exact representation of the original slab '66, brand new - back in the day the late John Entwistle purchased it from Arbiter.

Please note this model was also offered with a rosewood fretboard and a tortoise guard.

Stunning. I was just saying on the Seymour Duncan fb page that Fender needed to do a tribute model to his basses. I believe in addition to Entwistle that Andy Rourke from The Smiths also played an old Slab body 60's model. Great sounding basses. I have long wanted Fender to do one in the American Vintage Series as a Special Run. I think they'd sell like hot cakes. Enjoy. She's a beauty!

Right now I'm actually doing a similar look on my 57 Reissue. I'm rocking a single ply bakelite blackguard. it's a very slick look. This makes me want to trade my used 55 Reissue in on a custom project. hahahahah.

Out of curiosity. What specs did you go with? Neck shape, radius, width, pick ups, ect?

@KingOfPain:
I went for the specs that will be closest to the original means no hot pickups from other make or so....
But I can tell you this bass is really brutal. Had my first rehearsal yesterday with my WHO tribute and this one really screams.....
