Hello everybody,
I'm looking for a pickguard for 1979 fender precision bass. Can I buy it on a Fender site? I'm not sure that it is show on site...
It has 13holes - 2 for pickup cover, 2 fot thumbrest (on the upper side of body), and 1 in the centre.
Where I should look for it?
I prefer red tortoise or black...

And the second thing: how can I check that my neck was originally mounted with body in 1979?
I checked neck numbers - there are ok, I also checked the body, and it looks that it is original too (from 1979), but I don't know how can I check that neck and the body were together (since 1979).
My neck is without fretboard, it's one piece of maple, and is mount deeper that another with fretboard, and I think it is allright? The bridge roller for the E string is compeletly lay down, and string altitude is not so low...
If you tell me something about it, I will be very grateful...
Thanks

Wojtek

8) Go to pickguards.com for your pick guar. If they don't stock what you need they can custom make one for you. real good people to deal with. If the dates on your boddy and neck match and the serial numbers match that is about the only way to tell if your bass is original.

^ +1 Pickguards.com is the supplier for WD Music...their standard stock template is the 70's Fender Template. It's exactly what you're looking for.

There's WD's link...their normal Precision Bass section is the 70's template.
