Just got my new American P bass Friday. What a beauty. Color tone is 3-tone sunburst (Now red and not Orange), all maple neck, (radiused edges)Tortise Shell pickguard (not Mint), heavy string through bridge (or at bridge),notched sadles for string placement to neck, Lite tuners (Seem to be good and are all metal with Fender logo), Kick $@! Flight case, that you can stand on with 2 inch wide latches and a lock that is a real lock. Sounds like a million bucks through my all tube SVT (Duh). This is probably one of the best Fender P's I have ever owned. Ken

how and where did you get one already? fender hasn't even posted anything on their site about it yet. I'm jealous. I can't wait to get my own.

I'm thinking about buying a new bass. I'm leaning towards a Jazz since I already have a Precision. Congrats on the new bass!!

Dude, I'm 50/50 between the 57' and exactly what you have (sunburst, tortoise shell pickguard, maple fretboard, etc). Glad you like it, because you're influencing my decision a little.
