Yes but not on the Custom Shop 60th editions, just the regular production bass. (I tried to see if they could get me a 51 CS reissue but they're long gone sadly.)

I like it, its different. Probably sounds good. Someone posted elsewhere (couldn't find it for quote) that most 60th's probably won't be played. Just collector pieces. Thats a shame.

True. I think I said that. Which is true of most Fender commemoratives. Collectors bank on them being great investments. As a general rule you can get your money back and then some if the run is limited enough. Then they appreciate over time. But in the past 5 years gold has been a better investment than guitars.

I got mine Friday. I played it out last night. (private party 175 people) (twine time band, blues) It plays great. Not unlike my 2 american stds, but i got many compliments on it's looks and sound. Other than looks it is not much different than an american std. And that is a good thing. I also have a 2007 american deluxe and. 57 reissue. They feel and sound different. This one feels and sounds more like home. I switched to light weight daddario flats, my personal preference, and again it feels and plays like home. Great action, tone typical classic p bass. What else needs to be said. I should add it was an outside gig, 90 degrees and humid, and it only required minor tuning between sets so the neck is very stable as are most of the newer american, graphite rod, necks. Out of the box setup was very good. Intonation spot on. All in all a great deal and so classic looking it should be in any p bass players rack.

It does look good, and certainly has a "heritage" vibe to it...but I still favor the combination of sunburst body and maple board...

No thanks...I'm partial to that grain too! I wish they had offered the same finish (Sienna Sunburst) in the P Bass. If they did, I'd have a matching set!

I ordered a 60th Anniv. P a few days ago, but haven't received it yet. I know it's a "Limited Edition", but does anybody know HOW limited? (ie., approximately how many will be sold?) Thanks.
