I used to work as a bass-tech when I was younger for the bassist of Beck, Justin Meldal-Johnsen. He ended up giving me one of his basses as a form of payment.

I'm now looking at selling it. I've spent hours researching the value and I haven't been able to determine a range for this bass.

It's an American Precision Bass and I've identified the color as Inca Silver.

Not what the year is... per Fender's site, it looks like it could be 1999 or 2000.

The serial number is N9416824.

It is also signed by "Donald Duck Dunn" on the bass head. Not sure if that increases or decreases the value.

Any help would be appreciated. Just want to make sure I'm asking fair market value and I don't mislabel it when I sell it.

Thanks in advance.

Fender made a Donald Duck Dunn artist series bass. They were all Candy Apple Red with a gold anodized pickguard, but they were not USA made.

If it is a genuine signature of Duck Dunn applied to a 19999/2000 Fender USA P-Bass it could add value to a fan of Duck Dunn's. To anyone who is not a fan it is a mark-off.

So I'd get the autograph authenticated. Could be a forgery or could be real. Won't know until you get an expert to look at it.

A 1999/2000 P-Bass in EX condition should bring $750 to $1,000, but in your case it could bring MORE or less.
