Looking for a new pbass. I like unusual finishes.
Are there any other production finishes (non- custom shop) that are unusual that I could look for besides those mentioned?

Back in the late 1970s/early 1980s, Fender has introduced the international finiishes on their instruments. The International colours, along with the Stratoburst variants were extremely lurid: Monaco Yellow, Capri Orange and Sahara Taupe, to name a few.

The Stratoburst legacy survived from the turmoil, though; the Custom Shop offered the best-selling Custom Classic guitars in Blue Stratoburst in 2008.

I remember a swirl finish available on Stratocasters back in the 80's.

I think it was called a bowling ball finish.

That would be an unusual finish on a Precision bass.
