Just a quick idea for of all you vintage 57 P reissue owners, if you had to do it over again would you do it or go with something else.Presently looking at one or even the 62

I've had one for over a year. Great sound, great looks, great feel.

Mine replaced a Classic '50s Precision that I had modified with a Basslines Quarter Pound and Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats. My band was nuts about it, but the '57 is even better. The only thing I changed was to install a set of TIs and strap locks.

I kind of wish I had sprung for it in '07 when I bought the other one, but who knew?

When I watch Standing in the Shadows of Motown I start to lust after the '62, but the truth is, I'm a maple fingerboard guy (all four of my Ps -- '51 RI, fretless, Classic '50s and AV '57 -- have maple).

I have found my lifetime bass (of course, just for variety, I picked up a Martin B-1 ABG in trade for an SG today).

Well, I'm a rosewood neck guy....but the 62 RI is not quite me either. I'd say play them both then decide.

Just got my new 57 precision,WOW!!!!! the first thing that jumped at me when i opened the case was the beautiful blond with the grain showing through, highlited with the gold guard. The second thing i loved was the light weight. When i plugged it in i was super happy,it was well set up by the staff at the 12 fret in Toronto.Very happy camper!!!!!!!
