I just noticed a problem with my Fender American Deluxe 5. When I try using the Dynamic control pan pot (that's the 2nd knob that pans the bridge and neck pups) when I pan to the neck pup the sound drops to almost nothing. Is this a pre-amp or pup problem? HELP!

Maybe the wire that connects the pup to the pot got loose...

Well it's finally official. I need a new split PUP. My guitar tech replaced the pot, that didn't fix the problem. Then he replaced the circuit board. Still not the answer. Now he tells me I need to replace the PUP! :? Any thoughts on which PUP is the best for me to ask him to order, or can I order my own from Fender directly? :?:

At first I did not know exactly how this control is supposed to work. But after playing with it for a while I cannot get the bridge pickups to get any sound from them. My serial number is DZ1149513 and the part number is
195362 which is supposedly an American Deluxe precision V "Upgrade".
I suspect that this was a manufacturing defect that I had never discovered until really digging into it. See if your serial number is close.
