I'm meeting a guy to buy a bass on the weekend...

BUT

I'm not sure it's a fender, and think it may be a copy witht the decal on the top. He's not yet sent me the serial number, but I think the bridge looks a little high for a P Bass, and also it has 21 frets instead of 20. It's an MIM apparently.

Also stock pickup has been repaced by EMG Active.

Here's the pic. What do you think?

Welcome.

Typically, MIMs have less frets than MIA ones.

Without a hands-on examination, it would be tough to tell for at the very least, we'd need several clear and close up pictures to even consider making a decision.

Based on your picture though, IMO, that really doesn't look like a bonafide Fender P-Bass to me.

That body does not look right at all. It may be a wierd camera angle, but the body looks mishaped.

Also the logo looks to me like a 70's-style logo. I don't think that logo was ever on a MIM. And the string tree looks like it is in the wrong spot.

And the fact that it's 21 frets.
